ARCHIVED - VIDEO: 6 Brits arrested in Marbella for attempted contract killing of men with Irish mafia links
The hitmen shot an associate of Mr Flashy, a notorious Irish gangster, at a lake in the Malaga resort

Spanish National Police have arrested six UK citizens wanted in relation to the attempted hit on three Irish men in Malaga last September. Searches of four properties in Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola and Coín this week resulted in the seizure of four pistols, a revolver, a ‘weapon of war’, several machetes, an axe, a bulletproof vest, ski mask, handcuffs and ammunition, among other effects.
The loot has conclusively tied the British members of the criminal gang to the assassination attempt on three Irish men and the shooting of one 24-year-old at a Costa del Sol lake in 2022 and the Spanish police now consider the case solved.

According to official police sources, the Britons moved to Malaga with the express intention of “settling scores” with key allies of Dublin gangster Mr Flashy.
The attempted “contract killing” took place on September 20 last year at Lago de las Tortugas, located in a swanky residential neighbourhood close to Puerto Banus.
The Irish mafia trio were reportedly fishing when the drive-by shooting occurred.
“One of them was hit and needed medical attention,” an inside source reported at the time, confirming that the gang member suffered kidney damage.
“The gang’s modus operandi was to choose their victim and rely on equipment that enabled them to know where they were and decide on the best time to act with total impunity,” he added.
“They used a stolen car with false number plates to drive to the area where they planned to end their targets’ lives”.
The gangland-style attack came just days after Kinahan cartel front man Johnny Morrissey was arrested in Mijas.
The same sources claim that, during the raids of the Andalucia properties, one of the British suspects aimed a weapon at the Spanish police and only dropped it and surrendered when the officers fired several warning shots.
Codenamed ‘Tortuga’ (or turtle in English), the operation has led to the take-down of a violent criminal organisation operating in the Costa del Sol. The six British suspects now face prosecution for crimes of belonging to a criminal organisation, murder, deposit of war weapons, illegal possession of weapons, counterfeiting and fraud.
