Andalucía weekly weather forecast Jan 26-29: A stormy, windy stretch with plenty of rain
Cloud, rain and blustery Atlantic winds dominate the week, with milder nights but few breaks in the unsettled weather
After a wet and blustery few days, Andalucía continues with another unsettled spell. Expect plenty of cloud, widespread rain and some powerful Atlantic winds, especially near the coasts and over the eastern mountains.Monday January 26
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday January 26Skies are very cloudy, with light to moderate rain becoming widespread and turning heavier and more persistent in the mountain ranges, while the far east is less affected. Temperatures rise, especially overnight, so it feels less cold at dawn. Westerly winds are moderate inland but strong along the coast and in the eastern highlands, with very strong gusts and orange wind alerts along parts of the Almería and Granada coasts and yellow alerts around Cádiz and Málaga.
Tuesday January 27
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday January 27Thick cloud and moderate rain again spread from west to east, with locally heavy and persistent downpours in the Betic mountains and the eastern Mediterranean coast. Daytime temperatures slip a little and there may be a touch of frost on the highest eastern peaks. Westerly winds stay moderate inland and strong at times elsewhere, with very strong gusts possible over large areas; yellow wind alerts continue in Granada, Almería, Cádiz and Huelva, and gusts near Tarifa could reach upto 55km/h.
Wednesday January 28
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday January 28Cloudy skies persist, with moderate rain in most areas, heavier again inland and lighter towards the far east. Temperatures change little and only light frost lingers in eastern mountains. Westerly winds are moderate inland and moderate to strong along coasts and higher ground, with strong gusts around coastal stretches of Cádiz and Almería, reaching a potential maximum of of 40km/h.
Thursday January 29
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday January 29Cloudy or overcast conditions continue with moderate rain across much of Andalucía, once more heaviest and most persistent in the Betic ranges and lighter in the far east. Temperatures rise generally, with a noticeable jump in night-time values, so will feel milder in general, even inland around Córdoba and Seville. Westerly winds remain moderate inland and moderate to strong along the coasts and higher elevations, with very strong gusts still possible, particularly near Almería where speeds could push above 50km/h.
Overall, Andalucía faces several more days of wet, windy Atlantic weather, but the payoff is milder nights and fewer frosty starts, especially for those living close to the sea.
