Andalucía weekly weather forecast January 19-22: Bright beginnings give way to rain and coastal winds
A mild and sunny start across the region turns cloudier midweek with rain spreading from the west and stronger gusts along the Mediterranean coast
Andalucía begins the week on a crisp, bright note before cloud and rain move back in from the west. The first half of the week feels pleasantly mild by day but chilly at night, especially inland, while the second half brings stronger winds and heavier bursts of rain along the coast and in the sierras.Monday January 19
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday January 19Monday starts off with plenty of sunshine and just a few thin high clouds drifting across the western provinces. Conditions turn a little cloudier later, particularly in the eastern third of the region where light showers may appear by evening. The snow line sits just above 1,000 metres, and the morning begins frosty in parts of Córdoba and Jaén, dropping close to 1°C before highs recover in the afternoon. Northerly winds shift to westerly later on, with strong gusts possible along the Mediterranean coast near Almería.
Tuesday January 20
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday January 20A calm start gives way to breezier conditions, especially in the east. Most areas enjoy dry, partly cloudy skies, though an isolated shower may develop later in the day in the far west or along the Mediterranean side. Fresh northerly winds across the interior turn stronger near the coast, with very gusty spells expected in eastern highlands. Temperatures rise overnight and remain steady by day, leaving the air feeling crisp rather than cold. Inland around Granada, frost lingers briefly at dawn.
Wednesday January 21
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday January 21Wednesday sees the return of widespread cloud and rain as an Atlantic front moves through. Showers are moderate across western provinces such as Huelva and Seville, heavier along the coast but easing gradually by the afternoon. Elsewhere, the rain arrives later and tends to be lighter. Highs reach 18°C or 19°C on the Mediterranean coast, while inland areas are cooler. Fresh south-westerly winds strengthen through the afternoon, becoming strong at times along the Mediterranean and near the Strait of Tarifa.
Thursday January 22
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday January 22Thursday stays mostly cloudy, with light rain spreading east across the day and turning heavier on the Atlantic slopes and in mountainous regions. Along the west coast near Cádiz, temperatures hold steady between 10°C and 17°C through the day, while the Mediterranean coasts, including Málaga, stay a touch milder. Westerly winds are light to moderate inland but blow moderate to strong along the coast, occasionally very strong at higher elevations in the east.
Andalucía rounds off the week on a wetter, windier note, though milder air and breaks of sunshine in between the showers should make conditions feel more varied than wintry as January nears its end.
