Costa Blanca to get more buses, better airport links and new routes from June 1
The new €3.75 million bus network promises more frequent services and better links to Alicante, Elche and Torrevieja

A major new public bus network is launching across the Vega Baja from Monday June 1, with regional officials promising more frequent services, better connections and easier travel between towns, hospitals, airports and major cities.
The new system, known as the CE-710 corridor, is part of a wider plan by the Valencian government to improve public transport in one of the most car-dependent parts of the Costa Blanca.
For many residents, especially in smaller inland towns and coastal urbanisations, public transport has long been seen as limited and unreliable. The new network aims to change that with more direct routes and improved timetables.
The service will connect towns including Orihuela, Torrevieja, Guardamar, Pilar de la Horadada, Rojales, Los Montesinos, San Miguel de Salinas, Almoradí and Callosa de Segura, as well as Alicante and Elche.
One of the biggest changes will be improved links to Alicante-Elche Airport, Elche AVE station and both Vega Baja and Torrevieja hospitals.
There will also be more frequent buses between Orihuela, Elche and Alicante, while Los Montesinos is set to receive three daily services to Torrevieja. In total, the new contract includes 14 bus routes, a fleet of 22 vehicles and more than 43,000 journeys per year.
The Valencian government says it will invest €3.75 million annually into the new network alone.
Regional minister Vicente Martínez Mus described the launch as “a qualitative leap for public transport in the Vega Baja region” and said it would improve access to essential services while making everyday travel easier for thousands of people.
The CE-710 network is the latest part of a broader transport overhaul already underway in the Vega Baja. Together with two other recently launched transport corridors, the regional government will now spend almost €10 million a year on intercity bus services across the community.
