December 29 Club MMGR starting point for the traditional San Silvestre 5k Race 2024

This year’s San Silvestre 5k Race 2024 has been organised by Club MMGR Mar Menor Golf Resort where it will start

Club MMGR Mar Menor Golf Resort is very happy to be organising the San Silvestre 5k Race this year. In Spain, there is a tradition of organising this race near New Year’s Eve. The Race is one of the most famous and festive running events in the country.

What sets the San Silvestre apart is its festive atmosphere. Participants often wear costumes, and the streets are lined with cheering spectators. Many people see participating in the San Silvestre as a way to end the year on a healthy and positive note, embracing the spirit of fitness and community. Overall, the San Silvestre is not just a race but a festive and communal event that captures the spirit of celebration and unity as people bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.

The Race is open to all and starts at Club MMGR, Calle Ceiba, in the Mar Menor Golf Resort at 10.30am on Sunday December 29.

Entry into the race costs 10 euros for adults and 6 euros for under 14s. Participants must register via the 'Alcanza Tu Meta' website.

The Club MMGR sports and lesiure facility is located on the Mar Menor Golf Resort in the Region of Murcia.

 

Founded in 2008, the Club is one of the foremost centres for sports excellence in the south of Spain, and has lots to offer golfing, padel and football enthusiasts.

 

They regularly have coaching sessions and great events for young and old alike in both English and Spanish at their football pitches, gym, swimming pool, 9-hole minigolf course and padel facilities, with world-class professional sportspeople coming to coach at the club.

 

There is also a café, bar and restaurant area where they host activities like dancing, concerts and fun themed nights, and they can help you to book to stay at the Mar Menor Golf Resort hotel or to take kayak, canoe, jet ski and water sports day trips out in the local area.

The club is open from Monday to Friday, 7:00-23:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays, 08:00-23:00.
