Mazarron Country Club villa sold in State auction

A 2-bedroom villa appears in the State auction and is snapped up in a late flurry of bidding

The villa in question had been entered in to the Spanish state on-line auction on November 28 through the Murcia judicial authority, with an outstanding mortgage of just over €103,000 which is written off on the successful conclusion of the auction.

The Villa was an Antojo 2 type on a 304.37 m2 plot and consists of a lounge-diner, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, with mountain views. Neighbours reported that the villa had never been occupied and was “like new and just needed a little TLC”.

The auction valuation was listed as €180,897.60 and there was no minimum bid amount in the 20-day bidding process, which was due to end at 6 pm on December 18. However even though no bids had been received by the morning of the last day a flurry of last minute votes triggered 20 minute extensions to the deadline: this kept the auction open for an extra hour and according to the closure certificate ended with the highest bid of just over €101,000.

This auction follows the entry of 24 plots of land on Mazarrón Country Club Urbanization a few weeks ago which ended on November 27, although these were entered through a “secret bid” procedure, all the plots received bids.

Bidding in the state auction is only accessible by those registered with the auction authority who are then able to bid and have access to the ongoing procedure: there are other stipulations which include the payment of deposits.
