Rain all weekend long: Murcia weather forecast December 11-14
It won’t be getting as cold as previously thought, but it will be much wetter, with more to come next week
Murcia weather forecast, afternoon of Sunday December 14It’s going to be a sopping wet weekend in the southwest of Spain, by all accounts – perfect stay-at-home weather for those who fancy draping a blanket over them and watching Home Alone 2 with a mug of hot chocolate.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has also changed its forecast from a few days ago relating to average temperatures, which instead of dropping significantly should stay around the same level. In fact, night-times may even get ever-so slightly less cold.
Thursday December 11
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday December 11This Thursday is actually expected to be largely dry in the Region of Murcia, but we will already see the clouds gathering in over the course of the day, getting darker and darker.
Friday December 12
Murcia weather forecast, Friday December 12By mid-morning on Friday, the first drops of rain will have started to fall in the area around Lorca and Águilas, moving up to cover the rest of the Region by midday. Aemet notes that the rain will be “occasional and light” while the wind will also be “light, tending to blow from the east in the afternoon, occasionally moderate”.
Saturday December 13
Murcia minimum and maximum temperatures, Saturday December 13It’s forecast to rain pretty much all night on Friday and all day Saturday, with some brief bright patches towards the evening on Saturday. Despite how rainy it is forecast to be, Aemet have not yet issued any weather warnings for flooding alerts in the Region of Murcia, though just down the coast of Almería is on yellow alert for strong winds this Saturday.
They note that “minimum temperatures will rise and maximum temperatures [will see] little change,” while there will be “light to moderate easterly winds, stronger on the coast and in high areas”.
Sunday December 14
Murcia weather forecast, morning of Sunday December 14The rain continues throughout the whole day on Sunday, too, with some respite for northern areas like Cieza in the morning and evening, and Lorca and Totana getting a bit of a reprieve from the rain after around 6pm.
Still, for the most part the rain will continue to pour throughout the night, and right now Aemet’s forecast for Monday December 15 is for thunderstorms covering the entire Region:
