Shopping centres, supermarkets and stores open this January 6 in Murcia
Some shopping centre leisure areas and restaurants will stay open in the Region of Murcia this Three Kings' Day

The Christmas holidays are drawing to a close and Tuesday January 6 marks the end of this festive period for many people as daily routines begin to creep back in. One very special event remains though: the arrival of the Three Kings bearing gifts for children.
While lots of parades across the Region of Murcia have been rescheduled because of the rain, the traditional family feasts will undoubtedly go ahead, with the delicious roscón as its centrepiece.
It's worth remembering that Tuesday January 6 is marked as a public holiday in the 2026 work calendar, which means most shops will be firmly closed. However, as the date approaches, plenty of people are already thinking about the winter sales. Some stores have kicked off their discount period early, while others will begin this week. Between these offers, last-minute gifts and returns of unwanted items, many are wondering if any shops or shopping centres will actually be open.
Here's what you need to know about what's opening and closing across the Region of Murcia on Three Kings' Day.
Major Stores
El Corte Inglés will be closed to the public today in both Murcia and Cartagena. Ikea will also keep its doors shut on January 6. MediaMarkt won't be opening the shutters of its stores in Nueva Condomina in Murcia, Ronda Sur in Murcia or Lorca either.
Shopping Centres
The picture with shopping centres is a bit more mixed, with some opening partially and others staying completely closed.
Nueva Condomina shopping centre in Murcia will only open its leisure, restaurant, cinema and gym establishments. If you're after retail shops, you're out of luck.
The Thader shopping centre calendar doesn't include January 6 among its commercial opening holidays, so expect it to be closed. La Noria Outlet also doesn't list it among its opening holidays.
The Atalayas shopping centre indicates on its website that it's a holiday and will be closed. Espacio Mediterráneo shopping centre states on its website that it opens all year round except for December 25, and January 1 and 6, so that's another one to cross off your list.
The good news is that Dos Mares shopping centre will be fully open. Customers will be able to visit its shops, restaurants and entertainment venues without any restrictions. If you absolutely need to do some shopping on Tuesday, this is probably your best bet.
Parque Almenara shopping centre establishments will remain closed except for leisure and restaurant areas, so you can grab a bite or catch a film but retail therapy will have to wait.
Supermarkets
If you're hoping to stock up on groceries, you're largely out of luck. Carrefour will remain closed, though some Carrefour Express stores may operate with special hours, so it's worth checking their websites before making a wasted trip.
Alcampo, which sits inside the Thader shopping centre, will also be closed. The Mercadona supermarket chain won't be opening either, sticking to its strict policy of closing on public holidays.
