Soaring temperatures alongside 100km/h gusts: Spain weather forecast February 19-22
Although Storm Pedro is landing, the mercury is set to skyrocket in many parts of Spain this weekend

Average temperatures expected on Sunday February 22
Yet another high-impact storm, this one called Pedro, has touched down in Spain this week and much of the country is in for gale-force winds over the next few days. However, for those who can find a sheltered spot out of the breeze, the temperatures are set to soar, particularly in the southeast of the country.
Thursday February 19

Widespread orange and yellow alerts have been issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for dangerously windy conditions on Thursday. Gusts exceeding exceeding 70 km/h are expected along the Cantabrian coast, the eastern and southeastern coasts and the Balearic Islands. These could reach hurricane force, exceeding 120 km/h, in exposed headlands of the Cantabrian coast and in specific areas of the southern Catalan coast, as well as the Balearic Islands.
Even so, the weather is expected to stabilise with early clouds giving way to lost of clear spells.
However, but day and nighttime temperatures will take a temporary but noticeably dip across the entire country on Thursday.
Friday February 20

An anticyclone located off the coast of Portugal will gradually move eastward, inland across Spain, calming down the weather even further. But while the skies will tend to be only slightly cloudy, strong gusts will persist in northern Spain which will also impact the southern Mediterranean during the first half of the day.
Daytime temperatures will increase across the board, hitting a spring-like 22ºC in parts of Murcia.
Saturday February 21

A high-pressure system will cover mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, extending as far as the Canary Islands, bringing generally stable weather. Saturday will be entirely dry with clear or very slightly cloudy skies.
Daytime temperatures will shoot up again, particularly in the extreme south and north of the country, and Saturday night should be noticeably milder in most areas as well.
Sunday February 22

The forecast for Sunday is very similar to the previous day, with mostly sunny skies and virtually no rain in sight.
Both day and nighttime temperatures will continue to climb, with highs exceeding 20ºC in most of Spain.
