A hire car is highly advisable if considering renting on the resort for a holiday

The Mar Menor Golf Resort is located a short drive from Torre Pacheco and within easy driving distance of the Mar Menor and Los Alcázares, but transport will be required to reach shops and facilities off-resort.

The resort is large and spacious, and in order to explore it some form of transport will also be required. The roads are good and ample car parking is available even in the centre around the social club, but many people take advantage of the opportunity to get some exercise and use bicycles, thus taking short cuts from one area of the complex to another, an option not available for drivers! Rental bikes can be hired locally and delivered to the resort.

A bicycle is also an option for getting into Torre Pacheco, with a cycle lane running for part of the two-kilometre ride, but the roads are busy and motorized transport is recommended. Use of a cycle helmet is obligatory.

During term-time there are five daily bus services into Torre Pacheco and back again during the morning, but this service is suspended in the summer and public transport facilities are sparse. Taxis from Torre Pacheco can be called out on 968 577 633, and there is a taxi rank at the hotel, but most of the residents and visitors in the resort prefer to use their own transport.

Hiring a car is highly recommended for anyone considering visiting the resort on holiday. The use of seat belts is obligatory in Spain, and all children under the age of 12 must be secured in cars using child seats and restraints, so make sure to advise car hire companies of child ages if booking a rental car for family use.

How to travel between Murcia airport and Mar Menor Golf Resort

The Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera is just a 20-minute drive from the resort.

There are no direct bus or rail services from the airport to the resort, so a taxi or hire car is the only option.
