Valencia Airport takes a bite out of the Big Apple with three weekly flights

This Spanish airport will have a regular connection with New York for the first time since 2012

Valencia and New York are to be connected again next summer, with United Airlines launching a direct route between the two cities from Manises Airport, resuming a connection that was suspended 14 years ago when Delta Air Lines dropped the service in 2012.

The new Valencia-New York route launches on June 2, 2027, with three weekly flights operating on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Valencia, and Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from New York's Newark Liberty International Airport.

Departures from Valencia are scheduled for 3.30pm, arriving in New York at 6.30pm local time, with the return flight leaving Newark at 11.15am and landing in Valencia at 1pm. Total flight time ranges between seven hours and 45 minutes and nine hours.

The service will operate aboard the Airbus A321XLR, United's newest international aircraft, which features the airline's new Polaris business suite with a privacy door, complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members, 4K OLED screens with Bluetooth connectivity, a snack bar in Economy, and Economy Plus seating with extra elbow room.

The Valencia route forms part of what United Airlines describes as the largest expansion of its international network in the company's history, encompassing ten new international cities and three new European and Asian routes.

Alongside Valencia, the airline is also launching a direct Ibiza-New York service and has confirmed it will reinstate the Santiago de Compostela-New York route by summer 2027, having first launched that connection in summer 2026.
