Alicante San Juan festival supermarket opening hours: What's open on June 23 and 24
Many stores across the Costa Blanca will open as normal on June 23 before closing for the regional holiday on June 24

Anyone planning a supermarket run during Alicante's San Juan celebrations may want to check opening times before setting off.
With thousands of people enjoying the Hogueras de San Juan festivities, many supermarkets and shopping centres are operating special schedules across the city and wider province. Tuesday June 23 is a local holiday in Alicante, while Wednesday June 24 is a regional public holiday across the Valencian Community.
Although many businesses will remain open on June 23, most larger stores will close completely on June 24.
Supermarkets open on Tuesday June 23
Most major supermarket chains will continue trading on the local holiday, although some are operating reduced hours.

- Open: 9am to 9.30pm on June 23

- Large stores open: 9am to 10pm on June 23
- Closed: June 24
Several Carrefour Express stores in Alicante city will remain open on June 24:

The June 24 regional holiday is not one of the authorised opening days for large retail centres, meaning most shops across the province will shut their doors.
Shopping centres including Zenia Boulevard in Orihuela Costa, Habaneras in Torrevieja, L'Aljub in Elche, Portal de la Marina in Ondara, The Outlet Stores in San Vicente del Raspeig and the retail parks in Elda and Petrer will open as normal on June 23.
On June 24, retail stores will generally be closed, although restaurants, cafés, cinemas and leisure facilities are expected to remain open.
