Andalucía weekly weather forecast April 27-30: Breezy start, then showers and thunderstorms

Sunshine early in the week before clouds, rain and a cooler finish take over

After the hot inland spell and cloudy interludes of recent days, Andalucía begins the new period with more sunshine but also some very gusty easterly winds, especially around the Strait. From Tuesday onwards, the weather turns more unsettled, with showers and thunderstorms spreading in, while temperatures ease back a little after the recent warmth.

Monday should be mostly bright, with sunny or largely clear skies across much of the region. Low cloud may linger early on in the Strait of Gibraltar area, where a little light rain cannot be ruled out, and dust could begin to drift in towards the end of the day. Cloud will build over the mountains later, while temperatures either rise slightly or stay much the same. Winds are light inland and moderate along the coast, but the Strait will see strong easterlies with very strong gusts, and there are yellow wind warnings around Cádiz and Tarifa.

Tuesday turns much more unsettled, with very cloudy skies and showers that may become locally heavy and thundery, especially around Granada and Jaén. Mud deposits are possible where the rain falls, and dust remains suspended in the air. Overnight temperatures rise a little, but daytime values hold steady or dip slightly. Winds are light to moderate from the east in the far east, while elsewhere they are variable, so the main story is the rain rather than the breeze.

Wednesday keeps the cloud around, with cloudy skies inland and a bit more sunshine along the coast. Showers and thunderstorms are still possible in places, and Seville should be the warmest spot at around 25°C, although maximum temperatures fall a little elsewhere. Winds are light and variable for most, with some moderate southerly gusts in the far west. Málaga and Córdoba may both see a mix of cloud and showers through the day.

Thursday stays mixed, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of showers along the Mediterranean coast, most likely further east. Night-time temperatures fall a little, while daytime values either hold steady or edge up again. Winds remain light and variable, so although it will not be a fully settled day, it should feel calmer than the start of the week. Almería is most likely to notice the lingering cloud and the odd shower.

The end of the week looks set to stay changeable, with more cloud and a few showers still in the mix across Andalucía.
