Brit tourist seriously injured after falling from boat in Magaluf

The 22-year-old was reportedly drinking with friends when he fell and became caught in the propeller

A British holidaymaker has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a boat and reportedly becoming entangled in the propeller while out at sea in Magaluf on Sunday July 6.

The 22-year-old was said to have been drinking with friends on a rented boat throughout the day before the incident occurred shortly after 5pm, opposite the popular Nikki Beach resort. According to local reports, the young man suffered several deep gashes and appeared close to drowning before emergency services arrived.

Lifeguards on the beach were first to respond, stabilising the injured tourist until paramedics, Civil Protection teams and Guardia Civil officers reached the scene. He was taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma by ambulance. His condition at the time was described as “serious,” although no further official update has been released.

Witnesses reported seeing dozens of beachgoers watching in shock as the man was stretchered from the beach to the ambulance.

The Guardia Civil in Mallorca has launched an investigation into the incident. Reports in local media described the group on board the boat as “inebriated” at the time of the accident.

This incident comes just days after another British tourist, a 52-year-old mother-of-four, died off the Costa del Sol when the jet ski she was riding as a passenger collided with a boat near Manilva. The man piloting the boat, reportedly a friend of the victim, was arrested and later released while police continue their investigation.
