Mango founder's fatal fall in Spain now being treated as potential homicide
The spotlight has been turned on Isak Andic's son Jonathan, the only witness to his death near Barcelona

Catalan police are now investigating the death of Mango founder Isak Andic, who died on December 14 near Barcelona, as a possible homicide. The investigation has turned its focus towards Jonathan, the businessman's son, as a suspect.
The heir has gone from being a witness to a suspect in the case examining his father's death. He was the only person present during the alleged mountain accident that claimed his life.
The two were hiking near the Salnitre Caves in Collbató when Isak fell from a 150 metre cliff, dying instantly. The magnate's son claimed to have heard a slip, but insisted he never saw anything because he was walking a few steps ahead of his father. It was Jonathan who called the emergency services.
But now, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are reporting that "the witness contradicted himself, left grey areas and described facts that didn't correspond" with what investigators have found.
What's more, Estefanía Knuth, a professional golfer and Isak Andic's partner, told authorities about "the poor relationship between father and son."
While there's no new conclusive evidence, the Mossos d'Esquadra are already working on this new scenario. Although they initially treated it as an accident, they're now investigating Jonathan on suspicion of homicide.
Sources close to the family have said that "they have not made nor will they make any comments regarding the death in all these months." They also stated that "they are confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and Jonathan's innocence will be proven."
Born in Istanbul in 1953, Isak Andic moved to Barcelona with his family at the age of 14. He entered the fashion industry through wholesale and retail before founding Mango in 1984.
Over the years, the brand grew into one of the leading names in the global fashion industry. By the time of his passing, Andic was ranked fifth on the Forbes list of Spain’s wealthiest individuals, with an estimated fortune of 4.5 billion euros.
