Murcia driver throws cat from car and deliberately runs over it

There are acts against animals that reveal a shocking lack of empathy and humanity. This was the case in La Tercia, Murcia, where the driver of a luxury car abandoned a cat on the road before deliberately running it over, repeatedly, eventually killing the animal.

Specialists from the Guardia Civil’s Nature Protection Service, Seprona, confirmed that the driver threw the cat out the car window and immediately ran over it again and again, resulting in its death. The cruelty of the act has sparked outrage across the local community.

Thanks to tips from concerned citizens and a swift investigation, the authorities identified the alleged perpetrator. He was located in the Alicante city of Torrevieja, where he is now under investigation and faces proceedings as a suspected perpetrator of a crime against animals.

Following the revision of Spain's Animal Welfare Law, such blatant acts of cruelty are taken extremely seriously. The suspect could face heavy fines, a long-term ban on owning animals and even prison time.

These measures reflect the Guardia Civil's ongoing commitment to protecting animal welfare and ensuring that offenders are held accountable for harming domestic pets and wildlife.
