October 24 to 31: Free Halloween fun at Zenia Boulevard
A Tunnel of Terror and a costume contest are among the free activities on offer in Orihuela Costa

Zenia Boulevard commercial centre is getting into the Halloween spirit with a week of free activities for all ages, running from Saturday October 24 to Saturday October 31 and taking in children’s shows, workshops, a tunnel of terror and a costume contest.
The programme gets going on Saturday October 24 at 6pm with Juan Sin Miedo (John the Fearless), a family storytelling show that mixes actors, puppets and plenty of audience taking part. It follows Juan as he sets off around the world to find out what fear actually is, and the adventures and surprises along the way are aimed at sparking young imaginations.
The next day, Sunday October 25, children can drop in between 5pm and 8pm for a free workshop where they’ll decorate a fabric bag with adhesive decals and special fabric markers, using ghosts, pumpkins and other Halloween characters for inspiration. Each child takes their creation home ready for the festivities, and places are reserved for members of the Zenia Kids Club, which is free to join.
Braver visitors can head to the return of the Hotel Inferno Tunnel of Terror on Friday October 30 and Saturday October 31, open from 5pm to 9pm on both days. Anyone who steps inside will find an unsettling hotel where every corridor hides a surprise and every room could turn into a new nightmare, with strange guests and suspense around each corner. It’s free and recommended for ages 8 and over, while younger children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout. Entry is for Zenia Kids Club members, who can sign up for free on site before going in.

The week finishes on Saturday October 31 at 7pm with a costume contest in the Plaza Mayor, and witches, monsters, ghosts and every other creepy character are welcome to take part. Three €25 gift cards will be awarded, one each for the Spookiest Costume, the Most Original Costume and the Best Handmade Costume, which rewards the effort and attention to detail that goes into making an outfit by hand. Every participant also gets a few treats to remember the day.
As with the other celebrations the centre holds throughout the year, every event in the programme is free, and Zenia Boulevard hopes to keep offering residents, families and visitors in Orihuela Costa more than just a place to shop.
