Costa Blanca town unveils brand new dog park with training area and secure fencing
Almoradí responds to growing demand with new €36,000 dog park in Plaza de la Amistad
Dog owners on the Costa Blanca have a new place to head after Almoradí officially opened a brand new dog park in Plaza de la Amistad.
The new space has been created to give pets somewhere safe to run, play and exercise, and it’s already the third park of its kind in the town.
Local councillor for Animal Protection, Víctor Argilés, explained that the project comes in response to growing demand from residents. According to the council, there are now more than 2,000 dogs registered in the municipality, highlighting the need for more dedicated spaces.
The park covers a total of 875 m² and has been split into two separate areas, making it suitable for different types of use. The project involved an investment of €36,212.40.
Work included clearing out existing flowerbeds, preparing the ground and installing a compacted albero sand surface, along with accessible ramps to make the space easier to use for everyone.
The park is enclosed by a two metre high perimeter fence and includes a double access gate system designed to prevent dogs from escaping.
Inside, there’s a range of equipment to keep pets active and engaged, including a ring, slalom course, palisade and high jump. There’s also a water fountain for dogs, waste bins with bag dispensers and clear signage setting out the rules for using the space.
The park will be open daily from 8am to 10pm, allowing plenty of time for visits without disturbing nearby residents.
