Even hotter temperatures on the way: Alicante weekend weather May 28-31
Alicante is heading into another hot weekend, with rising temperatures and mostly clear, sunny skies

April 2026 has now officially been confirmed as the hottest April on record in Spain, according to AEMET data. And that trend looks set to continue as we head towards the end of May. Temperatures will keep climbing this weekend, with some areas getting up to 36°C, making it feel more like midsummer than late spring. Let’s go through it day by day:
Thursday May 28
It will be sunny with mostly clear skies. Temperatures will continue to be in the high 20s, with Elche and Orihuela reaching 31°C-32°C. Nighttime temperatures are expected to rise, also.
Winds will be light and variable, although an easterly breeze is likely to develop around midday.
Friday May 29
Friday looks like a continuation of Thursday with more sun and rising temperatures. Most of Alicante Province will see temperatures over 30°C, with Orihuela expected to reach highs of 35°C.
Winds will stay light and variable overall, although easterly breezes will pick up a little after lunch.
Saturday May 30
Skies will stay mostly clear, although clouds are expected to build inland during the afternoon, where there is a slight chance of isolated showers later in the day. Temperatures will continue to rise in the south of the Province, with Orihuela reaching 36°C. But the northern areas will notice a slight drop in temperatures, with temperatures returning to the high 20s.
Again, winds will stay light and variable, with easterly breezes developing later in the day.
Sunday May 31
Mostly sunny conditions are expected to continue, although some cloud could develop inland across northern areas during the afternoon, bringing a small chance of isolated showers. Temperatures will ease a little throughout the entire Alicante Province, but highs of 34°C° are still expected in some places. Light and variable winds are forecast, with easterly breezes once again picking up after lunch.
It's definitely starting to feel like summer is here, so enjoy the sunshine, but take care in the heat. Drink plenty of water, try to stay out of the midday sun where you can, and it might be time to bring back that summer siesta routine.
Minimum and maximum temperatures Alicante province:

Thursday May 28: Min 14ºC, Max 32ºC
Friday May 29: Min 16ºC, Max 35ºC
Saturday May 30: Min 18ºC, Max 36ºC
Sunday May 31: Min 18ºC, Max 34ºC
