Rural getaways: Murcia is the most popular destination in all of Spain
The Region has far exceeded the national average for occupancies this bank holiday weekend
Rural accommodation in the Region of Murcia has surpassed the 70% occupancy mark for this December long weekend. With 71% of rural holiday homes being filled this long weekend, the Region has far surpassed the national average of 60% for the rest of Spain.
These figures have made the Region of Murcia the most popular destination this bank holiday weekend in the whole of Spain for rural holiday homes, such as La Mariposa rural accommodation in the Sierra Espuña Natural Park.
Other regions that have done well for securing high occupancy rates are Navarra, Andalucía and Madrid, all with 66% occupancy and Catalonia with 63%.
Among the provinces with the highest occupancy of the total number of available places, the region of Murcia shares the spotlight with Huelva, Segovia, Toledo and Barcelona, which all have a total number of occupancies of all the available places in the 70% range.
These statistics reaffirm the region of Murcia’s position as one of the most attractive destinations for tourists at this time of the year in rural communities.
